Accuracy of three-dimensional proton imaging of an inertial confinement fusion target assessed by Geant4 simulation

The Geant4 toolkit was used to perform benchmark Monte Carlo simulations of proton micro-tomography imaging. A phantom an inertial confinement fusion (ICF) target designed, based on experimental data. Simulations STIM (Scanning Transmission Ion Microscopy) and PIXE (Particle Induced X-ray Emission) tomography were performed. Quantitative images obtained from the TomoRebuild JPIXET software packages, chosen for their ability handle large solid angles detection. tomographic compared with original phantom, as a reference. For STIM-T, accuracy calculated mass density ≤ 2 % 14 JPIXET. Corrections production cross section absorption tested quantification Ge, dopant in ICF target. Ge 2.9 6.4 JPIXET, whereas error about 40 without correction.
